Welcome to the SEND section of Ashwood Park’s website.
At Ashwood Park Primary School, we are committed to providing an inclusive education where all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), are supported to achieve their best possible outcomes.
SEND is a shared responsibility across the school. All staff receive regular, high-quality training to ensure they are confident in identifying needs early and adapting teaching to meet the diverse needs of pupils. We use a graduated approach to SEND, in line with the SEND Code of Practice, ensuring pupils receive timely, targeted, and effective support.
We closely monitor pupils’ progress and well-being to identify any barriers to learning at the earliest opportunity. Support and interventions are carefully planned, implemented, and reviewed to ensure they have a positive impact on pupils’ academic progress and their social and emotional development. This enables pupils to become confident and independent learners.
Parents and carers are central to our SEND process. We ensure that families are fully informed and involved, with regular opportunities throughout the year to discuss their child’s progress, support plans and next steps. Pupils’ views are also valued and considered.
Ashwood Park works collaboratively with the Local Authority, health professionals, and external agencies to ensure that pupils with SEND receive appropriate, coordinated support. We are committed to meeting statutory duties and ensuring reasonable adjustments are made so that all pupils can access the curriculum and wider school life.
The documents below provide further information about SEND at Ashwood Park Primary School and how school and home can work together to support children. If you have any concerns or would like to discuss SEND provision at our school, please do not hesitate to contact us.
